The Allen & Heath CQ18 is physically the smallest digital desk, in our sound mixer hire range.

Bands, musicians, DJs and event organisers hire sound mixers | sound mixing desks from us, to achieve the best control over their sound.

Simply put for those people new to controlling sound, you're going to use this mixer to input and control the volume of your mics (and instruments), before they reach the speakers.

The CQ18 is the best compact digital mixer on the market in our opinion, (and we check regularly!).

This mixer fits in a neat shoulder bag, (provided with the hire, see the photo above).

And at just 3 kg in weight, for 16 x combi XLR / jacks which support both mic and line inputs, this is (in our opinion) an entry level pro mixer that will serve small band gigs and events extremely well.

Mixing Desk Hire

The CQ18 works on the basis of either you touch it's and then move faders / parameters, (the inbuilt screenhas a similar feel to that of a tablet).

Or, leave the mixer near your inputs, (i.e. your mics / DI's etc) and set off around the room for a better listen, while using an actual tablet and the CQ app.

The mixer has it's own in built router, so the connectivity to the wireless is low faff. In fact, we've had these mixers since the start of 2024, and in that time, we've experienced no issues with connectivity in rooms up to 200 cap, (which realistically, is the type of event it's best suited for in any case).

We offer a free teach to all dry hire customers, who are seeking a demo and some advice on how to get the best sound from their event.

If you're already skilled in sound, then the CQ18 has a lot to offer your mixes, with graphic EQs on all outputs,. As well as parametrics, gates, and

compressors on all inputs. The CQ18 has 4 FXS engines, and 18 x 96kHz USB inputs and outputs. And the thing we're really excited about: it has an SD cards slot, to record all it's inputs directly! Ohhh yeah!
