If you are for example a school production, seeking to hire 10 – 15 headset mics for a show, then despite their superior sound, it may not be affordable to hire that number of DPA headsets.

So here’s a better fit for you. It’s the PULSE omnidirectional discrete beige headset mic.

It still has the same connector, 3.5mm lock and pin jack, as our DPA headsets, and will fit into Sennheiser G3 and G4 wireless beltpack transmitters.

Although considerably cheaper than the DPA to hire, the PULSE is a product which we’ve tried and tested over a number of years. And they’re good given their price point!

They’re not as easy to control in the mix as the more expensive alternative. For example if you had 15 of these PULSE headset mics faded up on your mixer at the same time, you will need to apply some processing, (expanding / gating and EQ), and ride the faders to avoid it sounding hollow and feeding back. But you can rest assured, our regular customers keep coming back to us, for their anual shows, and requesting this product. In that sense, this is a tried and tested hire product!

You’ll most likely find if you have 5 or perhaps 6 headsets live on stage simultaneously on principle actors or people speaking per scene / session, then you’ll successfully be able to reinforce those voice without difficulty. And remember, if you really do want the best sounding results, then hire a sound engineer. And we’ll take all that pressure of making it sound great, away from you, Sound like a good plan?

We also offer hybrid packages, where we bring the hire equipment to you, set it up and get you started. That way, you may not need to hire a sound technician all the way through your show.  Then that just depends on the complexity of the sound mix and cues.
